Claridge House Way
Thanks to jl34, From the url http://thewizardofodds.com/game/paigowtiles.html
The following is the house way of the Claridge in Atlantic City.
The Wizard of Odds would like to thank the Claridge and the New Jersey
Gaming Commission for copying their house way upon request.
For purposes of notation H preceeded by a number shands for High. An L preceeded by a
number stands for Low. For example H4 is the high four or Goose domino and the L4 is the
low four or Barn domino.
- Always keep the supreme pair together except with 4-6, 5-6, or non-pairing 6-6.
- Play a pair of 12's or 2's together except if either (1) they can be split apart to make a
6 or higher in the low hand and 8 or higher in the high hand or (2) the other two
dominos are 9 and 11.
- Play a pair of 9's together except if the other two dominos are any non-pairing
combination of 2's, 10's, and 12's.
- Play a pair of 8's together except if either (1) the other two dominos are any non-pairing
combination of 2's, 10's, 11's, and 12's or (2) the other two dominos are 9 and 11.
- Play a pair of 7's together except if either (1) the other two dominos are a
12 and a 2, 10, or 11 or (2) the other two dominos are a 2 and a 10, 11, or 12.
- When the hand contains a 2 or 12, 7, 8, and any other domino not forming a
pair then play the 7 with the 2 or 12 (forming a 9) if the other hand totals high 3
or higher (rank of 4 or higher or 3 with the Long domino). If the lower hand does
not total to high 3 or higher then play the 12 with the 8 in the high hand (forming
a Gong).
- When the hand contains a 2 or 12, 7, 9, and any other domino not forming a
pair then play the 7 with the 2 or 12 (forming a 9) if the other hand totals high 3
or higher (rank of 4 or higher or 3 with the Long domino). If the lower hand does
not total to high 3 or higher then play the 12 with the 9 in the high hand (forming
a Wong).
- When the hand contains a 2 or 12, 8, 9, and any other domino not forming a
pair then play the 8 with the 2 or 12 (forming a Gong) if the other hand totals high 3
or higher (rank of 4 or higher or 3 with the Long domino). If the lower hand does
not total to high 3 or higher then play the 12 with the 9 in the high hand (forming
a Wong).
- When the hand contains a 2 or 12, 8, 9, and any 4 then always play the 8 with
the 2 or 12 in the high hand (forming a Gong) and a 3 in the low hand.
- If the hand does not contain a pair, Gong, or Wong then play two dominos
